purchased the contract of left-handed reliever Jason Miller
. The 24-year old Miller will give the Twins a left-handed arm out of the bullpen, after the team placed Dennys Reyes on the 15-Day Disabled List. Miller had appeared exclusively for the Red Wings this season.
Miller pitched for Rochester on Thursday, as he was one of six Wings to hurl in the game. The southpaw went 1.1 innings, allowing a home run for his only earned run. He had a 2.84 earned run average for Rochester, pitching 25.1 innings.
Reyes went to the DL due to inflammation of his left shoulder. To make room for Miller on the 40-man roster, the Twins transferred infielder Alejandro Machado to the 60-Day Disabled List. Reliever Glen Perkins is also on the 15-Day Disabled List, so Miller fills an immediate need.
