| Biography: |
| Dustin Nippert is the top pitching prospect, and everyone knows it. Enrique Gonzalez is #2, and virtually nobody does. While his 24-14 record in the last two seasons might not knock your socks off, his 3.31 ERA sure will, especially when you consider that one of those years was at the launching pad now known as Clear Channel Stadium in Lancaster. A three pitch pitcher who has upper 90s velocity and, when he's on, pinpoint control Gonzalez will turn 24 this season and has benefited greatly from the attention focused on Nippert, which has allowed him to master his repertoire without a lot of bright lights on him. Could see time in the bigs this season if injuries happen or the Diamondbacks fall out of contention early, but is more likely to spend all season in Triple-A, and then compete for a spot in the rotation in '07. |
