Drafted in the 10th round of the June 2004 draft by the Minnesota Twins. Signed by Billy Milos.

2004 Highlights:

  • Started his professional career with Elizabethton of the Appalachian League.
  • Played in 49 games while batting .266 with four home runs and 27 RBI.
  • Named the Twins' Minor League Player of the Week, July 31-August 6. Batted .524 with three home runs and nine RBI.
  • Compiled an OBP of .357 thanks to his excellent batter's eye.
  • His 27 walks led Elizabethton.
