For the first time, the New York Yankees have issued a press pass to a dot.com website other than MLB.com. TwinCitiesDugout.com will be live from the big ballpark in the Bronx, and have already interviewed Denard Span and Kevin Slowey.
BRONX, NY- In an unprecedented move, the New York Yankees have credentialed a dot.com website. That website is TwinCitiesDugout.com. After completing a few interviews and checking out the stadium, here are a few things that have caught my eye.
The big ballpark is beautiful, and the Visitor’s clubhouse is very impressive. It is a major upgrade from the digs at the old stadium.
Denard Span is not only a great player, but a great person. He sat down with us before the game, and had plenty of things to say. That story will follow.
Kevin Slowey also sat down with us prior to the game, and it is nice to see a kid who came up in the system do so well at the big league level. He really is going to be special.
This team likes to have fun. Coming off three consecutive walk-off losses, you would think that they would be done. A number of players told me that a loss is a loss, and that you cannot let it get too much of you. A bunch of guys were joking around in the clubhouse, and they looked very loose.
Joba Chamberlain can hit for a pitcher. I saw him put a few up against the fence, and one even left the yard. A.J. Burnett did not fare as well.
Bert Blyleven balked on taking the elevator, and instead, the should-be Hall of Famer decided to take the stairs.
The Sheppard Dining Hall was serving Duck. Which is a huge upgrade for a minor league writer used to eating hot dogs or subs at AA or AAA stadiums.
Check back later for more!!!!
