On Friday, Brian Buscher will make his Major League debut, as he will reach the pinnacle of an already incredible season. Buscher was a beast for New Britain, did not miss a step with Rochester, and now will take on his latest challenge. Amazing for a guy who was #3 on the third base depth chart to start the year.

On Friday, the Minnesota Twins will promote third baseman Brian Buscher to their 25-man roster, as the young slugger will reach the pinnacle of an already incredible season. After starting the season off in New Britain, Buscher was given a promotion to Rochester, and did not slow down. After starring for the Red Wings, the Twins will give the 25-year old his first taste of the Big Leagues.

At the beginning of the season, Brian Buscher was basically third in line to receive a promotion to the Major League. Former first round selection Matthew Moses was already in Triple-A, and top prospect David Winfree was with Buscher in New Britain. However, Buscher let his bat do the talking, taking a can-do attitude to the ballpark everyday.

By June, it was obvious that two things were truth. Moses was not ready for Triple-A, and Buscher was. Buscher batted .308 in 63 games, smacking seven home runs, while driving in 37. At the time of his promotion, Buscher was batting .365 in June, and seemed to get stronger every time at the plate.

When a prospect is promoted to Triple-A, they usually hit a slide. That was not the case for Buscher, who homered in his second game with the Wings. Then came the two games from June 27-28, where he homered in both contests. Add to the fact that he was hitting .321 in July, it was time for Buscher to receive the ultimate promotion.

So here he is, a slugging third baseman that could bring some good gap power to the Twins lineup. If any of his other promotions are an indication, do not be surprised if Buscher stays with the team for a while. With the way the big league club is playing lately, any added offense will be a huge help.
