The Twins signed 17-year old Aussie Tayler Rowe this past week, inking the prep pitcher to a Minor League contract. Rowe caught the attention of Twins International scout Howie Norsetter, who went to see the young pitcher in Melton at the AAA tournament.”Naturally, I liked his velocity, but control of his pitches is more important,” Norsetter explained. “But I also liked his desire to beat every batter he faced.”
Rowe has a great fastball for a kid his age, as his heater sits in the high 80s. However, he has been known to crank it up to 90-91 on some occasions.
