The Twins recalled Patrick Neshek from the Rochester Red
Wings on Thursday, a day after demoting Boof Bonser to the Triple-A team.
Neshek has been one of the more dominating closers in Minor League Baseball for
the past two seasons, and his call-up to the big leagues is well deserved. The
25-year old right-hander will be the 27th Minnesota native to appear
in a game for the Twins when he makes his Major League debut.
A sixth round pick in the 2002 draft, the Twins drafted
Neshek out of Butler University. After a standout collegiate career, Neshek
signed with the Twins and has been on a pretty steady track the Major League
ever since. This season, he had posted a 1.95 earned run average for the Red
Wings, and notched 14 saves.
